IF YOU WERE MINE

(Slap the abuser, celebrate the abused, WOMEN ARE TREASURES)

Why doth the skies weep and the sun frown?
Or the sun set at noon and the moon linger like there be no dawn?
Why doth the heart mourn lights still aglow?
Why does the lush of a smile make flow my tears?
...
Do Angels die, do Angels mourn comrades, the dier?
Doth the death of an Angel birth a demon?
Yet in the skies I see a dense sea, a cloud of tears
Of beings whose feet hover over
Do they cry the death of an Angel under or the birth of a demon?
...
I once knew an Angel, she lived next door
In the filth of the slum of the villain to which she was betrothed
She was daisy at dawn and lavender at dusk
She was the power of the sun, her light frightened darkness
She was the rose in the hedge, to the touch of love she blossomed
She was the bringer of rain and like the bronze serpent; the taker of pain
...
If words could tribute the fall of he who yet stood?
Or the death of she who yet lived?
I'd chronicle epistles on the bark of all trees standing,
and etch lores on the backhands of all men living
For the taker of light bartered darkness
A lantern whose lamp is reaped, a body whose soul is ripped, a face whose life is robbed
Lost; a needle at sea
...
O men! Didn't you see the signs, the omens?
Didn't you see her spirit fleeting?
Every slap, every stab, every blow, didn't you see her fire dwindling?
Didn't you see her die daily as she lived?
...
For your love was toxic to her veins and your words daggers to her heart
Your betrayal stopped the beat of her living but oxygen kept her existing
For in her face, I saw the blueprints of torment masked by the dusts of the desert
How lowly she has fallen, left her crown to be coronated as a drag queen
For you she once lived, in your hands, she died living
...
Dear lovely Demon, send my love to the Angel trapped in you
If you were mine;
With my bones, I'd build ramps and bridges, with my muscles and veins I'd make ropes
And with the bridges, we'd cross the sea and with the ropes we'd climb to heaven
And when we reach the other side, I'd burn the bridges and sever the ropes
To keep you away from the cruelty and vileness of man
If you were mine;
I'd tame a lion to hunt me games
Òkín, the beautiful peacock will lose her coat
Àrán, the coat of many colors will I robe you in
And with the femur of a bison, we'd pound yam, Iyán
And drink emu; the wine of the gods, with skull of a dragon
If you were mine;
I'd treasure you in my chest and bury the map in my heart for no one to find
I'd be a man rid of the ways of men
And love you as is the core of my call
