Luanda - Photos from the TOP
Ladies and Gentleman, Boys and Girls,
I want to share with you some photos from Luanda. At first sight it looks it doesn't have nothing special but I assure you I felt in love with that place. People are amazing and warm, food is great, beach is great and the African landscapes are breathtaking.
Now, regarding Luanda, this city is overpopulated with 8,3 million people. Luanda got overpopulated because many people flew from the rural area to the city to have military protection during the Civil War from 1975 to 2002.
Cheers up, Upvote and resteem!
Luanda! The land of $25 Heineken.
Oh that's because you drink Heineken... you should drink Cuca, it's only $1! :)
Oh... I wish I could have one now!
When did you worked there? Luanda? Or Cabinda?
I was deepwater. Block 14. We choppered off the Melongo terminal.
I'm in West Texas today. Still chasing them damn oil rigs.
25$ ? Are you for real?
It is... thinks are really expensive. I lived there for 6 months.
Probably you can buy an AK-47 for the same price :(
Jesus Christ! 25$ is insane! I can understand them being more expensive than local stuff, but damn!
It has a lot to do with currency problems in Angola. The Kwanza (their currency) bounces from a 3rd world currency to a commodity currency depending on oil prices and if the current government is allowing drilling and allowing it's citizens to work.
It's a complicated mess. But when the Kwanza is crashing, inflation soars rapidly.
I didn't know it was that bad over there. Thought the only real country so locked in to cause that much of a mess via inflation was Venezuela...
Amazing photos of Luanda from above, looks like a really busy city :)
It's incredible!
