Entries for Papa-Pepper Combo Contest Week 5

So I placed last week. I'm very happy. I'm not sure I'm actually eligible to compete this time, but I do the shoots for fun and don't worry much about the contest, so I did more shooting. Contest details

Also I really needed to test out my new camera thoroughly. I'm having trouble narrowing my entries down further, and there are 2 bonus shots that aren't eligible. All are taken with my new Sony HX400V. Shots are cropped to various degrees but have no other editing.

European Black Slug

I had no luck finding a website making it simple to ID European caterpillars yet. :-( On a grass stalk

A bonus--INELIGIBLE--pill bug shot. I like this one better, but it rolled up and disappeared under the leaves when I came with the sign... as did another one.

Another INELIGBLE bonus. Trust me, I tried to find a way to stick my sign in the edge of a shot, but it just doesn't work at this distance and it scrambled away FAST when I moved enough to stick my arm out. Our squirrels are not like US squirrels. They are REALLY shy. I'm actually a bit confused about these. I thought all our squirrels had ear tufts, but I can't see them in the picture. My picture shows them better than I saw them by eye. I suspect perhaps I just can't SEE the ear tufts.

Overall I am increasingly happy with the new camera. At that distance, I'd have had nothing vaguely usable with the Canon on the squirrel. Also it doe sbetter with lower light than the canon did.
