📷🛪One month in London: Part #1 - Sniffing around. 🛪📷steemCreated with Sketch.

in #photography7 years ago

The first few days went sniffing around the place and getting familiar with the surrounding. We had a few beers with Pete and he introduced to to a few nice people from his circle.

The first thing to do is to get Oyster card for moving around the city, it allows you to move freely in London Underground and on these spectacular two deck buses and even on some ferries on Thames. You can get one of those in any Underground entrance to my knowledge.

You can see that this trip took place a while ago, and i knew i was going to that premiere since i have pretty much wasted a few years of my life playing World of Warcraft :)

At first i was kind of confused about the zones in London, but it is really simple. They basically change the further you move from the city center. In most cases you will be cool with a pass up to the 3rd zone, as moving further gets you into living/suburban areas of the city.

Since i was living close to the London Eye i had to do those shots that every tourist does. Palace of Westminster, Big Ben and the London Eye :)

I have even got myself a local model to pose for a shot :)

The whole area is called Southbank and it is crowded with tourists, different vendors and street performers that liven up the scenery and allow you to grab a snack or get a beer

If you have a fast internet connection and some time to spare i have made a 4k video revealing the beauty of the Southbank.

That basically wraps up part one of getting to know my surroundings, that involved a lot of walking on foot, have a lunch here and there, and enjoying the city from a tourist perspective.

Stay tuned for a more indepth look as the days will pass by.

Your models are always so pretty :)
I've never really been to London (airports don't count I suppose).

No, Airports do not count :) I have been to so many places and i was always thinking.. well London... a dull city everybody has been at... But i was really surprised how colorful it is :)

See? Not everyone has been there ;)
But I would like to see it one day and hear their accent all over the place :p

Ha! That seagull actually looks like it's enjoying being a model for your shots!

It certainly did :) I am sure it's comfortable with tourists sticking camera to it's beak already :)

Nice photographs of London city.

I've seen a lot of posts on London but you captures some very unique images. I especially like the seagull!

In Australia we have "Opal" cards for our public transport, which I'm guessing are much like "Oyster" cards.

Thank you for sharing @bescouted :)

Thanks :) A good thing to know what to buy when i come to Australia :) Thank you for sharing the knowledge. Following you to get more tips on Australia :) Cheers!

Thank you @bescouted! Followed back for more great photography :)

Wow, such a great travel post! Love your photos! 😍
Was that local model really calm or were you far way enough?

Thanks, it was really calm, it seemed unhappy when i was leaving, must really love posing lol

that's so cool, I was trying to chase one in Istanbul, couldn't take a single picture 😅

Probably the ones in London are more used to tourists :)

Hah! A photo tour of London...? Mind if I come along? I was there a long time ago - the London Eye wasn't even there yet! :) I'm looking at photo #3 - is that really 2 birds flying synchronised over the Eye?? Super cool...

You are welcome! yes, that is two birds, not as cool and mysterious as the ones you have posted though :)

They're good! I like how they are always synchronised in movement and pose... :)

Because unlike men and women, they do not fight that much when a couple lol

@bescouted, this is so vibrant, I rarely have a chance to see London in such a bright tones. Excellent work. Upvoted, resteemed & DPS.

I was really lucky with the weather that month, almost no rain, can you believe that Locals said it's a miracle :) Will be sharing more of that trip, just time is such a luxury now, when we started developing BeScouted on Steem blockchain :)

Awesome! I can tell you the southbank hasn't changed much. The only difference is that there's more stuff there. That frozen yoghurt bus was still there the last time i was down :)

I believe that frozen yoghurt is there for ages and to stay lol I see it in almost every south-bank picture shot by somebody. Very good advertising position even if it brings loss as a business :)

oh yeah, i dont think that thing will ever move :)

Not unless it is moved lol But it is nice that some things stick in this ever-changing world of ours :)
