Although we didnt see it happen we were the second car to come across this accident. No one was hurt thankfully.
The road was pretty well blocked which didn't help once the truck was cleared.
Everyone pitched in to unload the truck.
Power lines weren't happy.
By the time the road was clear it was dark, but we still made it to our camp ground.
I've been there and it's unbelievable... it's amazing how no more accidents happen.
In know! Although we saw more tuk-tuk incidents than vehicles.
This is amazingly common in Guatemala - in 3 weeks I saw numerous accidents along these lines, mostly caused by transports driving the major east-west route through the mountains.
We drove from Antigua to Livingston and back - after the first hour or two you come to terms with your own mortality. Much worse was the 4+ hours spent waiting for an accident where a transport truck had jackknifed in the road.
Yep, to be honest I think drivers of any sort of public transport and trucks are the craziest. The road between Antigua and Guatemala City was a race track, and the speed the old buses travel at is crazy!
That's a miracle that nobody was hurt! I believe the Lord sent his angels to divinely protect that day.
