Ice Level Seats at the Jr. Hockey Game Beside the Visitor's Penalty Box... A Place I Know So Well.
The Oshawa Generals play in the OHL (Ontario Hockey League) in the CHL (Canadian Hockey League) which contains most of the top Jr. players in all the world.
The CHL does have several US hockey teams in it also across the border.
Ted is a big fan, he owns a sports pub in town. He used to live a couple blocks north of my house.
The Jr. Hockey Team in my Town wins the Memorial Cup (again) | Oshawa Generals Are One of the Winningest Franchises in All of Jr. Hockey Worldwide.
I skated and went to school with and played sports with the guys in the 1990/91 team that won it also, as you will see from the trophy count below.

We won this again in the 2015 season and it truly was a magical year and yes, I was a season ticket holder for the games.

This is a photo of the large full colour poster put out by the team after the wins - it was on the road in Quebec, in Canada.
And yes, I know most people are not reading most of a post on here, but that is not my fault. I am proud of my team here and what it has meant for the city and the residents here --
One of the things can can actually show some UNITY -- is sporting events even though in the grand scheme of the global poverty and political corruption it does not matter.
Sports also does teach a lot of valuable life lessons. I have blogged on that previously - as well as social skills, keeping in shape and gathering friends for years and years to come.

The 1983 Memorial Cup was held May 7–14 at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon. It was the 65th annual Memorial Cup competition and determined the major junior ice hockey champion of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). Participating teams were the host team Portland Winter Hawks along with the Oshawa Generals, Verdun Juniors and Lethbridge Broncos who had won the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) and Western Hockey League (WHL) championships respectively. Portland won their first Memorial Cup, defeating Oshawa in the final game.
1983 was the first time the Memorial Cup tournament featured four teams; it had previously involved three teams playing in a neutral host city since the round robin tournament format was adopted in 1972.
The Winter Hawks were the first team to host the tournament, and the first to both participate and win the title despite failing to capture their league championship; they were eliminated by Lethbridge in the WHL finals. The Winter Hawks were also the first American team to win the Memorial Cup
