The city life in Honolulu is wonderous! There is always something to do, its always super nice, and the beach is always just nearby!
While it can be awesome for all of these reasons, I still wouldnt live here... It is known that Honolulu while being a major city on an island, has some of if not the WORST traffic during rush hour in the country. I have friends who tell me that they spend anywhere from 3-4 hours getting to and from work each day (combined there and back of course) on top of the 8-9 hour work day. Which is just insane!
