I love when the desert starts to bloom, it really brings a new dimension to the desert landscape. This particular cactus has hooked thorns that will allow you to sympathize more with a fish if you ever get hooked.
Hahahaha. I remember when I was younger a couple times I even had a scorpion or a centipede end up in my bed! It's a pretty umm.. Unforgiving place, though surprisingly we don't have a lot of deaths from the poisonous creatures around here.. I thought it was much higher, but it's not very much.

don't know why but I always dreamed to see The Gobi Desert. so I always imagine a desert absolutely other side, more severe, ancient, dusty, like some kind of an old library with old manuscripts
The Sonoran desert is unique in that we have a rainy season but other times of the year it gets well over 100 degrees. Its hot enough to kill those that make the mistake of hiking without enough water.

Don't think I've been stabbed by one of those before, but I have been stabbed by a lot of diff cacti in AZ! Heh. It's not so fun.
