Dialogue #1 - 21 photo from Author's Exhibition
A couple of weeks ago I had a post about opening author's photo exhibition at local central bibliothek HERE
And now finally came time to present all the photos here in normal format. But first back to the story and the idea behind...
Firstly few words about "Apeiron Theater" and short extract is taken from their official WEB
Quote
Apeiron Theater was founded in 2012 by two young directors Eglė Kazickaitė and Greta Gudelytė and is the “youngest” professional theater in Klaipeda.
The concept of “apeiron” although difficult to understand, can, for many, become the key point entering the world of Apeiron's theatrical performances. These performances include elements of post-dramatic, surreal, absurd, social grotesque, other theatrical styles and open up a wide field of interpretations (as intertextual dramaturgy practically does not set any boundaries for perception).
The Apeiron Theater avoids monotony, consistency of time and action, too many contexts, links with philosophical concepts, poetry, but always gives priority to thought. The audience plays very important role and is understood as the co-author of the performance, which is also encouraged to see, interpret or understand the performance in its own way.
Creators of the Apeiron Theater analyzing society in psychological, sociological aspects, observing the reactions of the spectator, the prevailing theatrical forms and the possibilities of their variations, experimenting with the language and the theatrical expression of dramaturgy, develop the idea of discursive theater. During a short lifetime, Apeiron Theater became one of the most intriguing theaters in Lithuania.
Unquote
For the past year I have got perfect relations with both directors starting from shooting their "surreal" and "absurd" performances with many social problems reflected, and finishing with their personal photoshoots lately... We kind of found each other. I really like what they do and how they do it. And seems they like my photography style as well, reflecting their performance attempts quite well.
Few months ago when they have offered me to participate in their new project that was no any doubt for me..
Shortly... That was a socio-cultural initiative at Apeironas Theater premises in Klaipeda. The six-day theatrical workshop brought together three different groups: young people with intellectual disabilities, youth from Klaipeda and theater professionals for joint creative and educational work. Both directors and actresses worked with youth from Disability Centers on principles of psychological and social theater exercises.
Well, for me as portrait photographer that was great chance really to widen my borders of mostly only beauty and fashion photography. When all time is concentrated on main task there is very slight possibility you can find time for something else, and sometimes such occasions really helps a lot to get a bit of fresh air...
So, during those 6 days I have attended the lessons mainly just with my small but perfect for dark premises with natural light only, system FUJI X100T. Idea was to get mostly emotional portraits for the exhibition to follow the project. The premises of the theater are very dark with mostly black walls, but it makes perfect chance to work on silhouettes and to play with contrast light.
In total that was made some 700-800 shots during those days and it become quite an issue to chose the ones for printing for exhibtinion due limited space and budget, but we did it.
So now, no more words, prepare for some visual story coming deep into the characters of those wonderful people...
Highly recommended to look in the dark on a full screen!

These are quite different from what I'm used to seeing from you.
Nice though.
Thanks for sharing in #PYPT
Excellent photos and portraits! And it was an interesting venue to have taken them in. Thanks for putting this together, and for presenting it on #pypt
