Cathedral of Our Lady of Carmen
Catholic temple located in Maturín, Monagas state, Venezuela. Due to the height of its domes (The surface of the construction is 2310 square meters, its width 33 meters, its length 83 square meters, and the towers have a height of 55 meters), it is considered the second highest in Latin America preceded by The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico.
Its construction lasted 21 years, 10 months and 7 days, began on July 16, 1959, precisely the day of Our Lady of Carmen, and was inaugurated on May 23, 1981.
The plan of the cathedral is in the form of a Latin cross in the Romanesque style.
