I didn't get a chance to take the pictures as fast as I wanted: real life gets in the way! Whuda thunk it? However, the circular gap in the clouds was even more pronounced before and looked like a perfect circle. Or very close.

It was probably an updraft from the hills. I think there's even some traces of fog flowing up in the pictures.
