Hotelu de la Balea Lac

In the central part of the Fagaras Mountains, in the glacial Balea, there is the lake with the same name. Every year here, during the winter of January - March, the only ice hotel in Romania and Eastern Europe is built from the ice blocks from Lake Balea.
Starting with 2005 in Balea, in Fagaras Mountains you can sleep in a special hotel. Here, both building materials and furniture and decorations are made of: ice and snow. Depending on the theme approached each year the decorations are different. In 2014, the theme chosen for decorating was "Baroque in the Ice".
Location: Fagaras Mountains, Lake Balea area. The ridge of these mountains extends from the east to the west, a huge peak of about 70 km.
In detail, it is made up of a lot of peaks and ridges lined up in an alpine front. It descends below 2,000 m only to the extremities, to the Olt defile and to the Dâmboviţa de Sus depression.
