📷 Kuelsheim's City Crown - Die Stadtkrone Külsheims 🍇 [DE-EN] ✟

Hello dear Steemians,

und weiter geht es mit ein paar Impressionen von der letzten Station meiner Tour von Bronnbach, über Gamburg auf die Höhe Badisch Sibiriens nach Külsheim. Külsheim ist eine Nachbargemeinde von Wertheim am Main - ebenfalls zum Main-Tauber Kreis gehörend. Dieses hübsche, fränkisch gerprägte Städtchen in einem Steemit Artikel abzuhandeln würde dem, was der Ort zu bieten hat, nicht gerecht werden.

Today I continue with a few impressions from the last stop of my tour from Bronnbach, via Gamburg to the height of Badish Siberia to Külsheim. Külsheim is a neighbouring community of Wertheim am Main - also belonging to the Main-Tauber district. To deal with this pretty Franconian town in a Steemit article would not do justice to what the place has to offer.

Daher möchte ich mich in diesem Artikel v.a. dem Bereich um die Stadtkirche St. Martin widmen, die sofort die Blicke auf sich zieht, wenn man den Ort vom Taubertal aus (Üssigheim) kommend erreicht.

Therefore, in this article, I would like to focus on the area around the St. Martin city church, which immediately attracts attention when you reach the town from the Tauber valley (Üssigheim).

Külsheim wurde im Jahre 1144 erstmals unter dem Namen "Cullesheim" erwähnt. Die erste Errichtung der romisch-katholischen Pfarrkirche St. Martin fand im Jahre 1497 unter Zuhilfename des Erzbischofs zu Mainz statt. Noch heute wird das Außenbild der Kirche durch partielle Neuerrichtungen in den 1960er Jahren geprägt.

Külsheim was first mentioned in 1144 under the name "Cullesheim". The first construction of the Roman Catholic parish church of St. Martin took place in 1497 with the help of the Archbishop of Mainz. Even today the exterior of the church is characterised by partial new constructions in the 1960s.

Während ich diese Fotos machte, konnte ich auch den Klang des vierstimmigen Geläuts vernehmen.

While I was taking these photos, I could also hear the sound of the four-part ringing.

Die St. Martin Kirche liegt an einem großen Platz (wenn das mal nicht der Marktplatz ist ;-) ), an dem auch das Schloß Külsheim liegt, das die stilecht die Stadtverwaltung beherbergt. Zusammen mit der Kirche St. Martin bildet das Schloß eine von allen Seiten sichtbare Stadtkrone.

The St. Martin church is situated on a large square (if that's not the market place ;-) ), where also the castle Külsheim is located, which houses the city administration in proper style. Together with the church St. Martin the castle forms a city crown visible from all sides.

Im Augenblick befindet sich auf diesem Platz eine Kirmes, genannt Großer Markt. Die alt-ehrwürdigen Gebäude bieten eine wunderbare Kulisse für die neumodischen Fahrgeschäfte. Auf diesem Bild seht ihr allerdings eine absolute Rarität. Von diesem Fahrgeschäft wurden lt. Informationen eines befreundeten Schaustellers weltweit nur 3 Exemplare gebaut.

At the moment there is a fair called Großer Markt on this square. The old-venerable buildings offer a wonderful scenery for the new-fashioned rides. On this picture, however, you can see an absolute rarity. According to information from a friend of mine, only 3 carousels of this type were built worldwide.
