A dream day at Therme Spa. How does look the biggest thermal complex in Europe?

Therme Spa Bucharest is the largest wellness, relaxation and spa resort in Europe. It's the place where you totally disconnect from cotidian problems. The investment was developed on a 250,000 square meters and has a total area of ​​over 30,000 square meters.

The spa center is open 12 months a year and has a capacity over 4,000 customers. The total investment amounts is approximately 50 million euros.

This is the main entrance, with tall glass walls and surrounded by huge pots of tropical plants.

Access is based on a bracelet that the visitor returns to the end. The bracelet has a chip and a number that correspond to your locker room. The bracelet from the hand assures you not only access to 3 areas, but you can also use it to buy anything from the bars and restaurants inside. Everything you buy in the interior is counted on the bracelet, and when you leave you have to pay all the sum.

Before reaching the three large areas of the Therme Center, each visitor has to go through the shower area. These are made of special blocks of crystalline marble to keep away the microbes.

The indoor temperature is 29-30 degrees Celsius and the water temperature is about 33 degrees Celsius in any month of the year. The complex is composed of 10 pools, 10 saunas and 16 waterslides and the thermal water is extracted from a depth of more than 3,100 meters.

Also at Therme is the largest botanical garden in Romania, with over 800,000 plants, including over 1,500 palm trees and orchids.

Therme Bucharest is designed for a 9-degree seismicity on the Richter scale.

Let's start the tour and show you the three main areas inside the Therme: The Palm, Galaxy and Elysium.

Galaxy area

The first area I entered is the one called the Galaxy. The Galaxy is the area for children and parents.
There are over 16 waterslides of different sizes and the total length of which is 1.5 kilometers. They have a capacity of 6,500 people per hour.

Palm area

Palm Zone is for adults and adolescents over 16 years old and is for relaxation. More specifically, those who opt for this area have, besides several swimming pools, 26 hydromassage loungers, sourended by 500 different species of palm trees and 1,000 corian plants. The water from the pool of the Palm area refreshes 15% each day and the roof is retractable.

Regarding pools, they contain different minerals, one contains salt from the Dead Sea, another has lithium, another the last one has magnesium and calcium.

These minerals have benefits for our health. Orchids surround the pool.

The swimming pool continues outside the complex, where the water is, of course, heated. I like the most to stay outdoor in the warmed water.

The pool has hundreds of lights in the evening, ensuring a colorful and cheerful atmosphere.

The roof is ultra-secure, made of glass and it has 900 square meters, weighing 230 tons, resistant to any earthquake and also is retractable in summertime to stay outdoors when the temperature allows it.

Here is also the Tree of Life (Ficus Religiosa), also called the tree of wisdom, which is 120 years old and was brought from China.

Elysium area

The most expensive is the Elysium area which guarantees access to the other two areas mentioned above.

6 saunas, each with its own theme, 1 pool with selenium and zinc, a pool bar, 9 gardens with sun loungers, shower area, 3 massage cabins and the Colonial Restaurant - these are the attractions of Elysium area. Each sauna has a specific design, smell and sound system.

Visitors can enjoy a true wellness and purification ritual, called Aufguss, made by infusing a solution of aromatic oils on the heated volcanic stones of the sauna.

This has beneficial effects on the body by activating blood circulation, hydrating the skin and strengthening the immune system.

Saunas are provided with different temperatures; the six saunas have a capacity of 50 people each. For example, the Amazon sauna is 75 degrees Celsius, while the Provence sauna is 65 degrees Celsius. There is also a 90 degree Celsius sauna, but visitors get to this sauna at the end, after getting used to high temperatures.
