In winter, the coves and bays of the Sea of Okhotsk freeze, but the ice does not rise firmly, but floats in a huge pancake with its outlines repeating the contours of the coast. Strong soldering does not occur due to ebbs and flows. In our region, the difference in water levels reaches 5 meters. This happens every day, twice a day. Tide, tide. Therefore, there are always open water cracks near the shore. These fluctuations are associated with the moon, the gravity of the satellite carries with it a huge mass of water, and this is the reason for this phenomenon.
