I guess it depends on the use case. There is no zoom option on the analog Lomo fisheye camera, of course. But I also have an old Konica Minolta Dimage a200 to which I can attach a cheap Chinese fisheye lens. With the standard lens zoomed in the border disappears which can be useful sometimes. Reversing the fisheye and zooming in would give awesome macro potential, also without border.
I am normally torn about fish eye but this is a cool perspective ! I think they work better when the black ring is left on the outside like this.
