Di solito queste strade non non sono transitabili con l'automobile, anzi talvolta sono addirittura formate da alti gradoni di pietra. Si tratta di luoghi poco illuminati e con pochi negozi e senza una insegna. Per la verità non si capisce tanto bene dove conducano, ma si fanno sempre più strette.
Probabilmente le stradine così pittoresche ormai hanno soltanto uno scopo decorativo. Costituiscono una forte attrattiva turistica, ma, in fondo, non possiedono più quasi nulla del loro aspetto originale.

There are roads where time seems to stand still!
Usually these roads are not accessible by car, indeed sometimes they are even formed by high stone steps. These are poorly lit places and with few shops without a sign. In truth, it is not so clear where they lead, but they get narrower and narrower.
Probably the picturesque streets now have only a decorative purpose. They constitute a strong tourist attraction, but, basically, they no longer have their original appearance.
