At the Toa Payoh town central, I passed by a shop and saw this. Free cakes? I have to join the queue when I found that there are still available.

Queueing from a few shops away.
从几家商店远开始排队。
Got my number.
拿到我的号码了。
While queueing, my lady send me this message. So, she arrived too.
排队的时候, 我的夫人发这短讯给我。原来她也来了。
Still queueing outside the shop after a long time.
还在店外排队很长时间。
Finally, going in.
终于可以进去了。
Inside the shop with the snaking queue now and checking out their flavours.
在商店内的弯曲队列时顺便看看他们的有什么口味。
A few rounds and I could only see the packing.
出了几轮蛋糕还是只看到别人的份。
Closer, I could see the TV screen with the prices.

This is exciting. Coming out of the oven.

Time to enjoy the $8 cake.

The cake taste great but for $8, I’ll probably won’t eat it often because it’s not cheap. If you want to try your luck tomorrow, go to 190, Toa Payoh Central, near the 7-eleven store.

On another note, that's the first time I've seen a 7-eleven in a shopping center. Here the 7-elevens are all gas stations.
The cake out of the oven is slice to 8 portions but it's still quite big.
Strictly speaking it's not a shopping centre although we also have them there.

This Baker Talent is a shop. This area has a few rows of shop. So, you are half right in the sense it's consider bit of a shopping area too though not a shopping centre by our definition in Singapore. :-)

Not today. Today they are giving out only the original flavour and not selling.

I was passing by and saw the crowd and the sign but thought 500 should easily have gone by night when I was there but there's still numbers for 20 :-) Good way for them to market and test they can handle the volume.
