I heard it's a pretty nice place. Pity it seems cloudy when you took the pictures which maybe did not do justice to the place. Maybe you can explore adjusting in Lightroom.

You are right they are not very bright.
Yes, I seen people use it. I don't use it much. For minor lighting issue I just try to adjust exposure using Windows Photo Gallery. sometimes, little adjustment and does wonder.
