First day of the new year. Roaming around and ended up in Marina Square looking for dinner. Decided to try this Lao Huo Tang Restaurant. This is one of the those food center stalls kind that had "graduated" into "restaurant". I guess so they can make more money.
新一年第一天。在滨海广场逛逛找晚餐。决定尝试这个老汤堂餐厅。这是从熟食中心摊位“毕业”进入“餐厅”地位之一。我想也是为了可以赚多点的钱吧。

Went in and sat down and snap a picture to my left where you can see the sign of "Pan Pacific Hotel" on the outside.

Their bowl of lotus root soup was enough for one but will be bit little if you share with another person. Always happy to have a soup in a meal. Good thing is they have one refill for the soup which we only knew after we place our order.
一碗莲藕汤对一个人来说是足够了，但如果你和别人分就有点少。一餐有碗汤真好。好在他们可以让你加一次汤。那是点菜后才知道。
Otherwise, I'll probably order something else but I have no complain for the taste of this spinach with salted egg and century egg but I think it's a bit expensive.
早知道，我可能点别的而不是这。其实也不是这苋菜三色蛋不好吃而只觉得这有点贵。
The sliced fish ginger is cheaper but the fish slices were quite limited. More onions and spring onions.
姜葱鱼片较便宜，但鱼片不是很多。更多的洋葱和葱。
The New Year Dinner for two ended up more than $50.
两人的新年晚餐花了多过$50。
As I left, I took another picture of the entrance from another angle. See the pots of soup there?
离开时，从另一个角度拍摄了一张入口照片。看到那里的汤锅吗？
Bit expensive but that’s the price of eating in a mall. I say I’ll rather eat from their stall in the food court near my home when I need a soup. :-)
这餐有点贵，但商场吃饭一餐是这样的啦。要汤时，我宁愿在我家附近食阁吃。 :-)

那莲藕汤里倒映着窗棂挺有意思 金银蛋苋菜比鱼片还贵，可能是特色菜？
想起来去年跟我妈在牛车水吃了辣椒螃蟹 也不便宜

哈哈，到没注意到窗棂。金银蛋苋菜是今年较流行。以前也有。算不了什么特色菜。
牛车水如果不餐馆该较便宜。

还算好。
It has been a long time that we were able to visit Singapore. We will surely try to visit this place when we return to Singapore. I love the hospitality of the people as well.
This place is bit expensive though the soup is OK but once a while still not too back.

Yes, in the mall the setting is nicer and things are usually more expensive.
