Unique And Dangerous Locusts

in #photography9 years ago

extraordinary,,,
Look friend, this grasshopper has extraordinary advantages. Locusts are different from grasshoppers usually. Locusts seen here can not fly, but other locusts can fly.
Locust seen here looks benign, even he obedient to the employer (who have), where the weeds can we communicate using sign language. truly extraordinary. As if this grasshopper knows what we are saying to him. The gesture he gives with the front foot, when we ask something about it, the grasshopper gives the isyarata by lifting the front kakai, and indicating the direction we are asking.
Besides, this grasshopper is harmful to other living things (animals), these locusts can defeat the small venomous snakes.
These locusts prefer to settle in place to catch prey. Meaning the grasshopper is not looking for prey but waiting for prey.

Very nice giant grasshopper. Can they bite?

Yes of course, and he is poisonous

This looks more like a mantis to me, rather than a locust. Mantidae are not related to locusts, they are predatory insects.
Have a look here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mantis

This is called, in English, a preying mantis or, alternatively, a praying mantis. In Bulgarian, it's called богомолка -- a female who prays to god. We also know the female devours the male after mating, as does the black widow spider -- and certain other well-known species, including various primates. Locusts and grasshoppers, however, are not known to feed upon their spouses, but rather upon wheat fields and other grains. Thus, they are not the same species of bug.
