in #photography6 years ago

Fort Igloo was a bustling military weapons depot from 1942-1969, on the flanking the Black Hills of S. Dakota. 20180601_164735.jpg
Over 500 bunkers were used to store missiles, mustard gas, sarin gas, and even housed a population of Italian prisoners of war.

The site has since been used for farming cattle, pigs, and chicken. Some buildings are falling down and have been looted for material, while others are surprisingly intact 75 years after construction.

The train used to deliver munitions to these docks, where they were unloaded onto trucks and delivered to the bunkers.
