Steemit photo challenge - My first Gunpla in 2017steemCreated with Sketch.

I'm on a roll with writing about my favorite hobby today and I thought I should post about my first Gunpla for 2017. I wont count this as Gundam Feature 3 since I really want to post a picture of the gunpla's box as the cover. This post is just to remind myself on where I started this year with Gunpla building. My first Gunpla is actually the HG (High Grade) 1/144 Astaroth Gundam from Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans Gecko.

Unlike the my 2 posts, which were photographed using my Samsung J5's camera. This photoshoot was done using an old Sony DSLR and while I am not a full fledged photographer, I can say that I did my best.

What really takes me back was that I got this gundam/gunpla because it was recommended to me by a doctor/friend, Doctor Joseph Palarca. I was going through a tough time with my depression and he reached out to me and talked to me about starting in this hobby. I can't thank him enough for it. This hobby allowed me to channel my time, emotions and energy into something awesome and productive. While some people just see these as "Toys", these helped me a lot so bug off! :D

What I also observed during this time was that I wasn't into details as much. As you can see I didn't panel line the gunpla and while it alone as a snap build is great, details are missing. I've since gotten into a habit of avoiding the photo shoot if I don't pane line my gunpla. This kind of build is basically a Snap Build. You just build the gunpla as it is with minimal effort on detail. All I did was assemble and made sure the nubs were removed as cleanly as possible. Oh what are nubs? It's basically left over plastic from where the gunpla part came from. It's excess plastic from the runners. I feel like nub marks should have a completely separate topic on their own so let's leave it at that.

The Gundam Astaroth is a really cool looking gundam with it's asymmetrical design. The back story of this gundam is that it used to be a complete gundam, however due to an incident where the original owners were accused of a crime and the gundam being traded, or sold by the wrong people, parts of it were lost and in the story/mangga (japanese comics) the rightful owner is searching for the parts in hopes to restore it to it's origin form (which I will feature soon). You can go online and read Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans Gecko if you want. I will seriously recommend it.

Here are more photos of the Gundam Astaroth, here it looks like the man reaching out to God in the famous painting "The Creation of Adam".
