Yup @etcmike, made the mistake as well on thinking I got the best of the morning sunrise only to be surprised a bit later that it was so much better! Luckily was still set up to take the better scene, cracking video as usual. Goes to show you nature sometimes rewards well those that are persistent and patient. As the saying goes, "hurry up and wait".

I encountered such a situation just this morning while watching the sunrise. I was very glad I was patient. When I have a chance to put the pictures together into a slide show, you will see what I saw on the morning of 18 August 2018.
