Travel and Caribbean Photography - Barcelo Maya - part 3 📷

in #photograph8 years ago

This continued photo set focuses on the panoramas, and a few of the resort structures, pools and critters I discovered there. Its amazing all the construction work for these places, and how well they fit it into the awesome lush vegetation around as well. The panoramas are some of my favorites as well, I hope you enjoy them!

Here are some of my discoveries:

Around the Resort

There is truly some awesome artwork, structures and statues around the resort, this is one fountain at one of the foyers.

The open restaurants are awesome as well, with water all around, keeping them bright, airy and smelling nice and fresh.

Classic Mexican's colors and architectures in one of the lobby areas.

These food displays were really impressive at the meals with melons carves and all kinds of great food selection and food carvings. Look at the watermelone bird cage, my wife just loved these!

Panoramas

My favorite part by far is the beaches, water and so I've captured a few panoramas around the resort here.

The beaches unfortunately, only look like this first thing in the morning before other people wake up. It does get busier later in the day. This was probably about 6:30 or 7AM.

This is just a sample of the isolated beaches I explored out to a couple miles up and down the coast from the resort. Found some nice snorkelling areas, lagoons and rocky points to check out.

Not everday is perfect weather but when it has the blue sky background, you get some beautiful torquoise waters for sure.

I love the sunsets as well and typically get more color at dusk than dawn for photography.

As the boars return at the end of the day, the sun colors the sky and clouds for the last few minutes of daylight. I had a great time out on these catamarns cruising out above the reefs watching fish and the sea.

Again, the restaurant but by night, its gets pretty lively, and very nice surrounded by water and fountains which helps to keep it cooler, and smelling fresh.

A nearby dock and small village, these docks are an easy way to go out and see a bunch of fish below, if the waters are calm.

The Amazing Pools

The pools are awesome at this resort and I always appreciate the ones where they keep as many trees as possible for shade around them as well. This one had this semicircle with the swim up bar in it of course, so a popular spot by day. The only time to get these shots was by nice, without all the people around.

Lots of trees for shade and huge relaxing pools.

This was the disco, a huge pirate ship bar in the center.

And finally, we had this guy right beside our mini golf course, he didn't seem to care about us at all, but he was almost a foot across, VERY large!

One other crap out on the rocks by the ocean. They guys usually disappear as soon as you come near, I was lucky to get a photograph of this guy.
