Taking down a 45 foot maple tree

in #photograph9 years ago (edited)

In our yard we have a dozen 40 to 50 foot silver maple trees. They are beautiful and give us great shade. In the fall season their colors are magnificent.

A few years ago, after a stormy night with high winds, I noticed one of the mighty trees leaning, raising the ground by it's roots.

It continued to lean further, slowly getting worse. This spring the roots were really pulling at the ground, raising up two feet.

We knew it was time to drop this tree before it fell, causing damage to us and our neighbors.

We hired a crew to take it down, haul away the brush, and leave the cut up fire wood for only $500.

Thats a shame @paradise-found as wow what a huge tree! Lovely spacious yard you have upvoted.

Yeah, we hated to do it, but it was gonna come down whether we did it or the wind.
Thanks Simon!

Yeah, it was a big job. Huge tree like that, 4 professionals took like 6 hours, including cleanup.
