Corn poppy belongs to the papaveraceae ,its scientific name is Papaver rhoeas,
Native to Eurasia temperate, they can be planted in all over the world .In Belgium it is a national flower.
Both the beauty of simple and gorgeous, both in harmony.

A variety of the corn poppy have scarlet, pink,white or salmon flowers.

In ancient times， Chinese people often make a comparisons between the corn poppy flowers and beautiful YuJi . there is a legend about corn poppy flower that is made by the blood of a YuJi .

Xiang Yu, the king of Chu, was besieged at a place called Caixia by the Han army led by HanXin .Xiang Yu knew that bad luck was coming, drinking and singing in the tent for his lover Yuji and said to her: you find their own life, I was going to part from you.
Yuji saw that the king was so sad, she said to the king, I followed you in live and in death.
Then she danced with swords for the king, and finally committed suicide, fallen on the ground ,a group of blood around of her became into a bright red flower.
Later, people called the flower corn poppy .

虞美人属罂粟科罂粟属一、二年生草本植物，它的学名是Papaver rhoeas，原产欧、亚大陆温带，世界各地多有栽培，比利时将其作为国花。兼具素雅与浓艳华丽之美，二者和谐地统一于一身。

虞美人花未开时,花苞在细长直立的花梗上,像极了低头害羞的少女。

据说它有一个美丽的传说。

我国人民常常把虞美人花和古代绝世佳人虞姬相比，并有虞美人花是由虞姬之血所化的传说。

相传古时候项羽被韩信困于垓下，项羽自知厄运即将到来，就在帐中边饮酒边对爱妾虞美人唱悲歌，并对她说：你自己寻找生路吧，我要与你分别了。虞姬见大王如此伤感，便对大王说，我活着和死去都会追随你。说完便用宝剑为大王翩翩起舞，最后自杀身亡。倒在地上时身边一团鲜血化作了一朵鲜红的花。后来人们把此花就叫虞美人。
