ISLA LA TORTUGA

La Tortuga Island is a paradise of crystalline waters, located south of the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Venezuela. It is almost uninhabited, but it offers great natural benefits of waters with different nuances of blue, which make the destination a paradise of calm and crystalline waters. On the island there are some ranches that have been imposed by artisanal fishermen from the coasts of Miranda State and Nueva Esparta in order to carry this activity in certain seasons. La Tortuga Island is part of the Federal Dependencies of Venezuela, so it is not under the jurisdiction of any state.

La Tortuga Island is made up of mangroves, reefs, islets and cays, among the most visited and suitable for tourist activity are Los Tortuguillos and Cayo Herradura, all together makes the second largest island of Venezuela, after the island of Daisy flower. Its name is due to the large settlement of sea turtles that arrive there.
