I'm afraid not - the main point would be to take a NEW photo for the contest. But I hope you can still do that!
Is a photo of me taken by a friend considered?
I think the main idea here is that you're the one creating the photo. If you come up with the concept and set everything up, then have your friend to press the shutter instead of using a remote or a timer, that would probably be fine.
