I noticed a trend of greater views and interaction with these games so I decided to do a small statistical study. We're always trying to improve @photogames and so letting great photographers know the success and benefit is a good draw.

The findings surprised this little baby... I hope they surprise you as well

OUR GOALS

It's of course a desire of ours not only to reward consistent public players with chances to play but to introduce other photogaphers with good followings into the games.

HOW I DID THIS STUDY

1. I figured out the average number of views a competitor got on their blog posts in which were part of the photogames

2. I average many others that were not part of photogames

3. I believe the pattern repeats itself for all previous comptetitors but I've only done the analysis for this week's competitors.

4. I did not analyse dollars earned because of all the difficulty with random whales and pay for votes that makes that analysis impossible. Also commentary can be tricky unless you counted up how many unique commenters there are. Again the assumption is that #photogames posts would kick butt there as well.

5. I took the average non-photogames posts and saw what kind of increase they got on average for #photogames posts

THE END RESULTS

Playing in the photogames gives you a 2.27x increase of views
It's more of a range of 1.5x to a 4x increase of views on those posts.

• PHOTOGAMES POSTS = 130.08 views

• a couple points to make is that we see that someone like derek who gets the highest number of views regularly doesn't increase quite as much but it's still impressive that he still gets a good bump
• @aweber the most followed of the group still gets a great bump.
• there is a pretty solid low end on the number of views you get on Photogames posts. Meaning you are almost gauranteed to get a certain number of views as you can see below
• There are also a couple of statistical outliers like a couple very large photogames posts by @jarvie and his increase may normally be lower... but then again this was a very popular week for someone like @gabyoraa in general as many of her non-photogames posts far out performed her normal showing and that percentage of impact from photogames would normally be higher.

Photostars know that there is an impact based on when they post during the day but sometimes even that is overcome and even late posts get more views.
