Rainy Day
Not every wedding is blessed with good weather, and actually more often that not it rains, especially in the UK! We always try and make sure the couple are comfortable going outside, the last thing we want them to do is remember being dragged outside in the rain on their wedding day! But at the end of the day you will never forget what the weather was doing that day and it would seem a shame not to make the most of it! If it is really badly raining we would always wait until after the meal to go outside for couple portraits, we don't want to them to be soaking wet eating their meal! This couple were more than up for going outside to get some portraits and with a bit of off camera flash I highlighted the rain coming down on them. This is a shot that I have seen lots of other photographers do but I still love it. I love all the lightbulbs around them and the distant lights in the marquee of their reception venue which was on the Bride's parents farm. It's one photo they will always remember and hopefully one they were glad they went out for!

Hi Verity! I've been following Chris for a few weeks and I don't know how I missed out on following you till just now! Hello from a fellow wedding photographer:) I know what you mean with the rain...I think the worst part is how much it can stress the bride out, but personally I don't mind it too much. And I love that backlit rain drop shot! Something I tell myself all the time, is even if I've done a shot a million of times, or seen a bunch of other photogs do it, is it's still new to the couple and they'll still love it! Beautiful shot! I'm excited to follow along!
Hi ! So nice of you to drop by! Nice to meet another wedding photographer on here too! I totally get what you mean!! It always is new to the couple so whilst you might think it's been done before it's not really a good enough reason not to do it! I will follow you too and look forward to seeing your posts! Have a great day!

Thanks!
I opened the photo so I could see it enlarged. I like to see details that I might otherwise miss in the smaller photo.
You know what I noticed? The rain looked like stars falling all around the couple. And all the tiny yellow buttercups around the grass had their little faces toward them. They were glittering yellow too.
Such a pretty photo.
Awww thank you @countrygirl , it is a shame they display so small in the post! I love the glittery rain too, the flash really makes the rain stand out! So glad you liked it :)
