Shikoku fireworks show Part 2

Continuing from my last post, Lens blur technique isn't difficult but it also is not easy. You can try practicing on street lights or fairy lights. The trick is to use a steady hand and move the focus ring from infinite all the way to the end, you can also start at the close focal point and go to infinite.

To get a great shot this must be done in the time frame that the exposure is set to and avoid any shake from this movement.

I my self am still getting used to this technique and get better with every attempt.

With this you can get many interesting shots out side of normal firework photography.

Thanks for viewing, my posts are about the journey, the process and showing my experiences. Don't hesitate to ask questions. All the photos are mine and can be found at https://www.flickr.com/photos/takoyaki_king/ Follow me if you interested in photography and travel.

Nice shots! Firework photos are a lot of fun but, like you say, can be very tricky. A lot depends on the lens you use, too. You could probably get some interesting results with a lens with dedicated (and de-clicked) aperture ring, too. Anyway, nice work and images. Cheers!

Cheers, Yeah i love fireworks, I found that using old manual lenses worked the best, but its definitely tricky on timings and exposure.
