Africa #17: Hiking the majestic Table Mountain 🚶 via the India Venster Route ❎!

So after a very wild night at Long Street and almost no sleep we decided this would be the perfect day to hike the Table Mountain!

A dude we met in Sodwana Bay told us we should go for the more dangerous India Venster Route, because this one should be more fine, involving a bit of climbing.
What could possibly go wrong? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

After a hangover breakfast we headed towards the Table Mountain parking lot by foot.

After a few minutes of the trail, we saw the sign for the India Venster trail. Sounds charming:

But the guy who told us from this trail said it wasn’t too bad, so we headed for it anyway. We weren’t disappointed. This was one of the best trails we’ve done so far! It is not too long, maybe 2-3 hours to the top, depending on your fitness and your blood alcohol content ;)

Sometimes you have to do a bit of climbing using chains, ladders and stapels which is super fun. The view gets better with every meter you go up. At the top it is just amazing:

So in our opinion the India Venster Route is simply amazing, if you are not afraid of climbing up some ladders or chains. We took the normal way back down to save some money, but that was just an incredible pain for the knees. If you can spare it, take the cable car down.

Because this hike was so much fun, tomorrow we will do another one: The Lion’s Head.
