"Meu'Krui" The Traditional Way to Clean the Rice Pad
Hello Friends, You're All Healthy, Thank You for Visiting My Blog, My posting this time I told the tradition of "Meu'Krui" or how to clean rice with the help of wind. hope you guys like, happy read, Thanks, friends.
)
"Meukrui" local language that is often spoken by people in Aceh, "Mukrui name cleans the thread from the womb with the help of wind or in other languages called" nyeler "grain.
In the past, "Meukrui" is a tradition or habit of the people of Aceh, especially the clean rice farmers or grain crops with the help of natural winds, every rice harvest is very crowded we see the farmers "Meukrui" standing parallel over the rice field.
The more advanced agricultural technology, the presence of various modern tools such as rice thresher machine, rice harvesting machine, farmers' habits are very rare we meet almost in all areas in Aceh.
Same with working the rice fields in the traditional way, that is melting the soil to plant rice with the help of animal buffalo, now almost all the farmers in Aceh is lost by the progress of globalists all done in a modern way.
Nyeler Gabah or "Meukrui" in Aceh is often carried out by peasants of women, regardless of the scorching sun the peasants cast a speech or in the local language of Aceh called "Jei'ei" through their heads.
The faster the wind blows the better, because it can lift the dirt, separating the rice waste from the screw, and the shrinkage of rice that there is only a rice thread that has been separated from garbage or rice leaves that come at the time of rice threshing
A smile is seen on the face of Khatijah (50) elderly woman of Keude Karieng, Samudera Geudong, North Aceh, Aceh. The sweat of the woman almost covered all the faces covered in "sudung" or agricultural hats.
Although the age of the woman is included, but the full motion is still very agile, very quickly the farmer fills the rice into "Jeu'ei" or in other languages called Tempe or jar made of bamboo raised as high.
Gradually the paddy screw is tilted slowly, the current gust of wind blows the trash three meters from where it stands. While the rice thread is right in front of the foot, that's how the paddy is continuously cleaned.
Not far from where the farmer stood, there was a packet of black coffee and some snacks, and a bottle of mineral water propped up on a "rangkang" or a simply built cottage in the middle of a rice field.
"Only a few farmers here who still want to clean the way" Meukrui "this way has been done by society since time immemorial.
It takes time, but this has become a habit of our family tradition, in addition, we do not need to spend money font he cost. "Khatijah said recently.
After all the rice is cleaned in a very traditional way, the rice is directly in the dry up to dry and stored with the condition that the clean rice is left when the rice is milled then the farmer is only just reaping rice.
