Made this photo back in 2013 in Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. This place is called The Hummocks. These are basically sections of the old peak of Mt. St. Helens that came down in the landslide on May 18, 1980. While fractured into oblivion, these sections of the mountain stayed together, and over the years, have eroded into this nice little mounds.

Also in the landslide were large sections of the glaciers that were on the north side of the mountain. In time, those melted, leaving depressions, later turned ponds, like the one we see here.

Settings: ISO 200, f/11, 1/200 s.
