Reaching the top....or sorta

The rock garden at the top of the glacier walk is a sight to behold. To the left are sheer cliff faces, to the right is a massive waterfall. For the amount of effort, it's a view worth every step. I think what makes it so special is that if you have the will, you can walk right up to the cliff face, and under the waterfall if you want. Nothing feels like it's roped off, or Disney Land tourism. It's visceral and beautiful.

I like hiking - mostly because it lets my brain rest, and concentrate on something else. My job is such that my brain is working constantly. So on the mountain it's nice to let it only think about 1 thing, not to be tempted by the constant pinging of the phone - or even to open Steemit. In fact - this summer has been good for that. I haven't been posting as much, as I've been out enjoying the weather (or traveling). I'm sure once the snow comes, i'll be back to posting everyday.
