Architectural Photography - Olpe Witch Tower

My entry into the Architectural Photography challenge for 9th May 2018 is of a 14th Century 'Hexenhaus', a photograph I took in Olpe, Sauerland, Nordrheinwestfalen, Germany:

Although this remarkable 14th century building (and the only remaining section of Olpe's old Town Wall into which it is integrated) is beautifully preserved and maintained, it totally freaked me out, honestly. I find the knowledge that women were tortured, incarcerated and murdered within its walls terribly distressing. There is apparently some contention amongst historians as to whether this WAS actually the purpose for which it was built, but this certainly did not seem to be the case amongst the local townspeople.
