Cloud To Ground
Torrents of rain and a flash of light show a powerful but isolated thunderstorm which is developing quickly. It will grow bigger and stronger and finally will dissipate after expending it's energy. Completing a diurnal (daily)cycle.

Thunder is really interesting. Posts like these remind me of how amazing nature is!

Quite a snapshot of nature right there. There's a lot of character in those clouds, plus the rain coming down and the mountains in the background and the greenery in the foreground and the bolt itself which is striking.. A bunch going on! Keeps your eyes looking around. Nice shot!

Hi @irvinesimages, the distance between the clouds and the earth is very small, lightning is a way of drawing attention to the danger.
Nature acts with intelligence, human beings sometimes ignore their signals.

Hi Martha, and good day' I agree lightning gives a warning of danger and if the flash isn't enough the thunder can really make you jump! I have had lightning hit very close to me and it's quite scary. Thank you.
