Emperor Falls

in #photofeed7 years ago

One of the nicest things about being a photographer is knowing that people have had a chance to see the world the way you do, even if only for a fleeting moment frozen in time. Thanks for all the kind feedback and support these past six weeks on Steemit. It helps when searching for the motivation to get up in the dark and head out exploring. This shot is a rare selfie taken while enjoying the sunshine at Emperor Falls. The falls sit at 5,300 feet (1,600 m) high and cascade a total distance of 46 m (150 ft). Mount Robson Provincial Park, British Columbia, Canada.

wow... what a perfect moment! this photo really fascinated me. very successful and big shot! congratulations

Thanks. Why did it fascinate you?

Unfortunately, there are no different natural phenomena and landscapes in the country I live in. a scene I'm not used to seeing. and it's really a perfect shot. for this reason I feel enthusiastic and very 'impressed' with my work. Perhaps we do not use the word 'fascination' with you in the same sense. I just wanted to say 'I'm very impressed'.

I could see being fascinated with something beautiful lile that especially when you are not used to seeing it.

B.C. is God's country!! Gorgeous shot!

Its a beautiful province thats for sure.

Wow, Wonderful dude ..

That's an amazing shot! If you'd been facing it, it would have looked almost like you were taking on a tsunami XD Is that bit where the water is curving up the top the actual top and it was gushing out with some force?

goatsig

Thanks. The falls actually fall onto a ledge about 1/3 down that then spits the water out horizontally a little. So your looking at the bottom 2/3rd of the falls .

Now that's a view, how does it feel to stand near it?

It was very windy and the spray made you quite wet quite quickly.

It is ME who is grateful to YOU, dear Rob ! You are such a wonder... I mean your point of view trough a camera is a wonder : It reflects all the beauty within your soul, resonating with the beauty of our planet which is unfortunately less and less seen. You are an angel to remind how lucky we are to on earth, how bless we are to live amongs such wondrous elements. You are here to wittness that beauty can never ever surrounder to ugliness and your existence on earth is a gift. Ok... when I make a selfie, it is ridiculous. When YOU make a selfie, it is gorgeous. I can guess your smile here and can feel your happiness to share. THANK TO YOU !

Thanks. Your always too kind to me. ;-)

I didn't appreciate the volume of those falls before - I've seen a few pictures from other angles, but this is different - really cool!

Thanks. They are a special spot. Its a tough hike in there to see them.

Oh, is it well off the beaten path to Berg?

No it’s only a km from the berg path. But it’s 80% of the way to beg.

Ah, gotcha.

And berg is a long way.

I guess the point is that one would never simply hike to Emperor Falls.

No and sadly about half the people are too buggered to hike the extra 500m each way to the falls and just hike right past. As it’s just after a horrible slog uphill.

Makes your photo more unique. ;)

Not sure about unique ; but a few less selfi sticks at the falls ;-)
