Grey Nurse Shark

in #photofeed8 years ago

Although i'm night diving when taking this picture, i'm not frightened at all that this curious Grey Nurse Shark (Ragged Tooth Shark) has appeared from the depths, we are actually looking for the same thing - Squid. Grey Nurse Sharks are not man eaters, along with most other sharks. Most people freak out because they can see this particular sharks teeth, these teeth for animals such as squid and stingrays.

Not sure I'd remain as calm as you. In fact, I know I'd be crapping my wetsuit even if I knew it wasn't a man-eater. Great shot!

Hahaha most people do. My girlfriend use to have a huge fear of sharks now she's fine with being in the water surrounded by them haha

That's cool..I sometimes wonder how deep our primal instincts go. I guess your girlfriend proves we can overcome them. Excited to see more work from you 🔥👍

So epic looking, especially those teeth and eyes peering into the soul. Like you said, sharks do not really kill humans. Average of 88 attacks and 6 deaths per year say some research articles.

Shark attacks and deaths are nothing compared to how many people die from hospital and doctor mistakes though. 3rd leading cause of death in the United States of America. In excess of 250,000 deaths per year.

Now that is something people should not be calm about... lol..

Thanks a lot. Very true! Theres plenty of other animals that attack humans compared to sharks. Sharks are unfairly misunderstood.

awesome encounter and great shot! Did you end up finding any squid on that night dive?

Thanks mate! If you are ever around Wollongong way, you'll have to come for a dive! Sure did, i'll have to post some shots
