Birthday Glow

Here's a gift I got from mother nature on my birthday.
The editing isn't perfect, I've been so busy I haven't had much time... But it's close enough for now.
I will almost certainly come back later when I have more time and do a better job, but... I just wanted to do something real quick to show you all how beautiful it was on my birthday. :)

Also, there's a lil story behind this one. My father told me it was really nice and to meet him out there and by the time I got out there it wasn't looking so great.
Apparently he didn't get out there in time either based on what he told me, and we waited there for like an hour or so cause it looked like it might end up nice.
But then a group of clouds had blocked the sunlight and it didn't look like anything was going to happen, and we were about to leave. I literally said, seeya later and started to leave and then it started to come out.

It was too dark to get any video, but with a longer exposure single shot it was absolutely beautiful.
I'm glad I've had so much practice shooting night shots and low light recently as I knew exactly what to do and I think I got the ISO and shutter speed and all that stuff pretty darn close.
There was a really nice "alpen glow" and it lit almost everything up with a very faint light, though the camera picked it up even more than the eyes and it was just... Amazing looking through the camera.

I didn't think I was going to get anything, and was about to leave and then was treated to a spectacular show.
It was a good metaphor on my birthday! Hopefully that happens elsewhere in my life and other people's lives and something nice happens even after giving up hope.
I got some more shots on my birthday as well, well sorta of... During the morning of the next day with some really good star/night shots and will post them soon when I get a chance! Some of them are stunning!

This was a beautiful and great memory for me.
I'm glad I went out and was open to the possibilities.
