The Vineyard
When I was a kid, I dreamt of having an orchard.
I wanted to own a vast land where I can grow different kind of fruit bearing trees/plants. I remember during summer, I planted watermelons and melons in our backyard. Unfortunately it didn't last long (I over watered it haha). It was one of my happiest summer activity. I may not have successfully grown one but I am fulfilled with my achievement to grow it from a seed to a thumb size plant. So I told myself that one day, I'm gonna have an orchard of my own.
Fast forward to present, I still don't have an orchard or a vast land. But the dream is still there. I still wanted to fulfill that... someday.
And then I happen to see a vineyard that's open to public visitation. I've always wanted to try grape picking. So I didn't pass the chance to experience it. We travelled up north and arrived there early in the morning. We were the first ones to arrive at the vineyard. I didn't waste any time and grabbed a basket and a scissor for the grape picking session. It was full of hanging grapes ready for picking. More than the fruit (which is one of my favorite), I also enjoyed the experience. It made me more motivated to work hard and save for my dream orchard.
By the way, the grapes are sweet. Before we went home, I bought a small grape plant so I can plant it back home. It died also (yes, I got sad) but this time it wasn't my fault. Haha.
The picture that can be painted with color of human imagination seems to be more natural. The painting is no longer in color and color. Photography is also limited to camera frames. Like technology and rich imagination of human imagination.
I strive not to be a man of success, but rather to be a man of value.
