Natural house

Welcome to Bulgaria! And our traditional housing. A house in the nature, between the green spring colors and the pink tree flowers. Traditional Bulgarian architecture of our homes always seem special to me and it’s really beautiful among the natural spring freshness.

Although these houses are not a common sight in the big city and they’re almost absent nowadays (really!), there are villages, hide in the mountain skirts, where this sight can still be seen. Of course, some of the houses are not very good looking, but this one definitely experiences some constant maintenance.

There windows are not very big, and the rooms may seem a bit dim when you stay inside, but this provided some great insulation both in the hot summer days and the freezing winter nights. This great insulation still cannot be achieved by the modern materials, no matter how technologically advanced they are.

This particular photo is taken in the village of Bozhentsi, where building of modern houses is prohibited and even if you want to refresh your property a bit, it must follow the traditional outlook of the traditional Bulgarian housing. The village itself is a tourist destination in Bulgaria, but the streets and the houses which are away from the center part are very peaceful and calm. Still, when I visited this place, there were not that much people, considering that it was Saturday. Definitely would like to have a house there some day and go just for the relax.
