These are some sick shots of that Gul! Why is it going south and not north at sunset?
Thanks brotha... you picked up on that! Yes it was weird as it was flying away from the sunset... They always fly toward the sunset, to re-calibrate.
They fly at dusk to their nesting grounds and re-set their compass, correct?

Thank you! I'm a laymen when it comes to birds... However, I am certain its a Western Seagull (Larus occidentalis). Too large for a sandpiper and definitely not a sanderlings and not a Brown Pelican. What's unique is that its flying south and they always fly towards the sunset (to where they roust).
