Hello Selfie!
Have you heard of the Photo 52 project? The concept is to take one photo every week based on a weekly theme, for a whole year. I loved it since it is on the same track with my own "happy new month" habit but this is one demands much more commitment!
It has been more than 3 years since I developed the habit to email one picture on the first day of each month to my friends as a way to send my "happy new month" wishes and keep in touch with people I don't see often enough. Gradually I extended this habit to my steem friends using the #happynewmonth tag with a post with brand new pictures taken on the first day of each and every month!

But am I ready to keep up with a year long weekly challenge? This is really intriguing and the only way to find out the answer to this question, is to try it out :)

So here is a selfie I took on the first day of 2020 while I was shooting for my Happy new month / January 2020 post. Let's see how far this challenge can take us :)

The "exactly the same day" rule is something that I made up for my own personal challenge, as a photographic exercise once a month.
The photo52 contest gives you one week for each theme and if you don't like selfies there are 51 more themes to come!
