new airport
The sunny weather this morning welcomed the arrival of the Presidential plane of the Republic of Indonesia BBJ-2 at Kertajati International Airport base in Majalengka, West Java. From behind the window, the tower is visible on the wall curved giant Kujang, a traditional weapon of West Java.
Welcome to Kertajati International Airport, the new and magnificent airport that will be operational from June 2018.
Kertajati Airport is an example of a good infrastructure development cooperation between three mutually beneficial parties, namely the Central Government, Local Government, State-Owned Enterprises and private sector.
The feasibility study of the airport was completed in 2003, then the first location was established in 2005 with the promise of full financing from West Java Provincial APBD. However, seven years have passed without any progress at all, or nine years since the feasibility study has been completed. The old location setting permissions are forfeited. That is why the extension of the location determination permit must be repeated in 2012 by including the provision of the active role of APBN funding.
Practically, the construction work of Kertajati Airport is only started in 2014. For the sake of the acceleration of development, then in the period 2014-2019 Kertajati Airport incorporated into the National Strategic Plan, even in 2015 this airport became one of the National Strategic Program.
How is the division of labor?
The Central Government constructed air sides such as a 2,500 meter long runway with a width of 60 meters, a 2,750 meter parallel taxiway 25 meters wide, an appron and ground support ground equipment (Ground Support Equipment), airfield lighting and towers. This runway will be extended to 3200 meters so it can serve the largest civil aircraft operations in the world such as Airbus A380, Boeing B 747 and B 777.
The West Java Provincial Government built the airport side of the airport, which is a 92,000 square meter passenger terminal, which can accommodate 5.6 million passengers per year.
That's it. Airport Kertajati certainly we expect will revive the economy of the surrounding area. In addition to passengers and cargo, Kertajati Airport will also be a haj and umroh embarkation for the people of West Java and parts of Central Java.
