Beautiful Antennaria flower
When I first saw these little flowers, they caught my eye at Garvan Woodland Gardens a few years ago. As my partner and I walked, I saw a sign for the forest gardens. When I looked around and didn't see anything, I forgot about it.
That is, until I looked them up after seeing these sweet little flowers on Ozarkedge and found out they were Pussytoes.
It dawned on me that maybe I wasn't paying attention to the plants in Garvan Gardens because they weren't fully bloom yet. If you're not paying attention, it's easy to miss them.
It looks like the soft white flowers have a few hairs on them. You can tell if they are male or female by looking at the flowers. The stamens on male flowers are yellow, and the stamens on female flowers are usually pink.
The male and female flowers can be found on different plants. The male plants that make pollen are shorter than the female plants. The flowers are only about half an inch across.
