Hoover Dam – the combination of the nature's and human's efforts!

In the Black Canyon on the Colorado River, on the border of Nevada and Arizona has been erected absolutely unique construction - Hoover Dam. It was built during the period from 1931 to 1935, the Great Depression time, and named in honor Herbert Hoover, who started realization of the idea in 1922 as a Secretary of Commerce and played an important role in its construction as 31st President of the United States.

The building of the Dam decided many tasks including distribution and control of River’s water as well as electricity production.

Thousands of people obtained a job and participated in the construction that was extremely important in that time. However, more than hundred workers were affected by the accidents and therefore monument to the builder meets travelers at the entrance to the Dam.

You may find a lot of information on the Hoover Dam in many open sources. So I will not pressure on you by additional details, but just add here some photos.

The Hoover Dam is really unique engineer construction. However, from other side the Dam provided crucial influence for whole Colorado River ecosystem.

Therefore in my understanding experience obtained as a result of creation and maintenance of such epic construction should be taken into account in future for harmonizing of the relationship between nature and humanity, am I right?
