ANOTHER BEAUTY | Frida Kahlo. Mexican artist.
Lucien Bloch, daughter of composer and photographer Ernest Bloch, was a close friend of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. The range of her interests in art was extremely wide: she was engaged in photography, mural painting, mosaic, painted with watercolors and ink, painted with oil and made sculptures of wood and glass. In 1931, at the Banquet Lucien met Diego Rivera, spoke with him all night, and offered his services as assistant (to grind paint for murals). Rivera told her to come by at 8:00 tomorrow and introduced her to his wife. Frida immediately told Lucien that she hates her, and this was the beginning of a great friendship between the two women.
I write self-portraits because I am so often alone, because I am the person I know best.
