Tourists are asked not to go off the footpath, closely monitor the children, do not touch the traps with their hands and keep the dogs on a leash all the time.

I recommend to come here in the morning, since in the afternoon everything is in the shade.

Coast of New Zealand.

This place is quite popular among tourists - every year it is visited by about 150 thousand people.

White stone cape that separates the two neighboring bays. There is a cave in it, which I will show below.

On both sides of the cape are stunning beaches. They are very popular among the locals, and often there are various holidays and picnics.

Also in certain seasons divers come here. There are some good reefs with numerous marine inhabitants.

On both sides of the bay are surrounded by steep cliffs.

The Cathedral Bay got its name due to the Cathedral Cave located here. In turn, it was called so, because its vault resembles a Gothic cathedral in outline.

So it looks from the inside. It is quite large: the height of the arches reaches 20 meters, and its length is about 120 meters. Sometimes marriage ceremonies and musical concerts are held here. One of the scenes of the film The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian was also shot here.

If you are too lazy to go, you can take a boat. Especially for tourists there are organized water excursions to the surrounding bays and beaches.

In the shadow you can see the rock of Te Hoho, which, from a certain angle, is very similar in shape to the nose. Translated from Maori, its name sounds like “Nasal septum bend”.

As I already wrote, all attractions have parking, sometimes they are paid.

Shower and toilet.

We go to the beach hot springs. It is located about one kilometer from the Cathedral Bay.

The peculiarity of the beach is that hot water keys are beating it right across the sand. It is mixed with cold ocean water, and this results in warm baths in which locals and tourists love to relax.

People come here with shovels and dig themselves a hole in which they then sit until they get bored.

The temperature of the underground sources varies in different parts of the beach. In some places it is so hot that an unwary tourist can easily scald his feet. Therefore, here you need to be careful and keep those places where there are already dug pits.
